Educational background, philosophy, and experiences

Biography

A 1990 graduate of The University Of Denver- Lamont School Of Music, Daniel Venner has taught elementary music since 2002. He currently teaches at Eagle Heights Elementary in Smithville, Missouri.  Daniel has been an Adjunct Professor of Music at North Central Missouri College since 2014.  He serves as the director of the Eagle Heights Jubilee, a choir consisting of 100 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and the Aerie, an adventurous student led music collective.  In 2014 at the Chillicothe School District he was named Field School Teacher of the Year and received the Dot Hutcherson Excellence In Elementary Education Award.

Daniel was a Quarterfinalist in the Grammy Foundation National Music Teacher of the Year Award in 2013.  He is an active percussionist in the Kansas City area,  playing at Church Of The Resurrection Downtown and also with the Joe Walker Big Band and the Brothers Three.

He completed his Masters of Arts in Teaching and his Masters of Music with a Conducting Emphasis, both at the University of Central Missouri.
